Grant to fill affordable home gap
Funds raised from council tax on second homes is to be used to buy flats for sheltered housing in a Cornish town.

North Cornwall District Council has awarded a grant for 590,000 to the Sanctuary Housing Association for the initiative.

Ten two-bedroom apartments will be built at Pool House in Bodmin, providing homes for people who need to live close to the town centre.

A council spokesman said affordable housing was "much-needed" in the area.
