Voluntary groups and organisations in Cornwall will benefit from a new grant aimed at giving them broadband web access and computer training. The Actnow project has so far helped about 9,000 people in Cornwall to access broadband.
It says the new grant, worth about �100,000, will enable it to help another 250 rural businesses and 50 members of the public.
Some of the cash will be used to create three new community training centres.
Actnow is primarily funded by the European Objective One programme but the latest grant comes from different sources specifically to help voluntary groups.
Programme Development Manager Julian Cowan said: "Importantly, for the first time Actnow is going to be able to help with some members of the voluntary community sectors, including some charities and local volunteer groups in rural communities."
The money has come from both the Rural Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly Partnership and the South West Regional Development Agency.
