Recycling site expansion approved
A Cornwall recycling centre is to be expanded to treat more waste.

Cornwall County Council approved the plans to redevelop the Sita household waste recycling and transfer station at St Erth on Wednesday.

Sita will demolish its existing waste transfer station near Hayle and build a split-level recycling centre and offices to deal with increased demand.

Sita expects recycling rates to improve with more waste separation and sorting space in the new development.

The centre will deal with mostly green waste, but also televisions, computers and fluorescent tubes.
