Elderly support scheme extended
A befriending scheme is being extended to west Cornwall.

The scheme, supported by Age Concern, will see volunteers based in St Just making regular visits to some of the community's more isolated residents.

One in five people living in the Penwith area is over 65, and local GPs are backing the move for people to have the organised home visits.

Ten volunteers will take part in the scheme after they are vetted by police and social services.
