New forum is to help pensioners
A new group has been set up to help pensioners in west Cornwall.

Members of the new Older People's Forum include elderly residents and representatives of organisations which work with senior citizens.

Penwith District Council said it hoped that the forum will become a voice for improved services for older people in the area.

Loneliness and isolation have been identified as two of the main problems which need to be tackled.

The council's Champion for Older People, Councillor Chris Goninan, said: "The forum will provide a positive force for change, drawing on a wealth of skills and experience to make a valuable contribution to our community.

"It is aimed to improve the quality of life for everyone in Penwith, especially older people. Membership is open to all, so come along and have your say."
