A clotted cream manufacturer is to expand its operation in Cornwall after receiving 2.8m. The expansion will see the Rodda's Creamery, which has been in Scorrier for more than 110 years, double its production and create 10 more jobs.
The company is being awarded just under 1.4m from Objective One funds, and matched funding from the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs.
Work on the expansion is expected to be completed within three years.
'Family business'
Company director Nicholas Rodda said: "This is a major expansion and will allow us to increase capacity, develop new products and explore new markets.
"The increased capacity will give us an unparalleled opportunity to promote our locally produced products, not only to the rest of the UK but also internationally".
Carleen Kelemen, director of the Objective One Partnership, said: "Rodda's is a successful and well known family business that has traded over generations.
"This investment will help the company to expand dramatically by adding value to current products and maximising the business success of a distinctive Cornish product."
