Mine restoration spells job boost
Wheal Kitty
More than 1m has been invested in the project
More than 30 jobs have been created with the completion of the transformation of one of Cornwall's most historic sites.

The Engine House at the former mining site at Wheal Kitty, near St Agnes, has been turned into business units.

The businesses on the site range from surf board design and website development, to engineering research and personal training.

More than 1m has been invested in transforming the listed Engine House.

The project was funded by the South West Regional Development Authority (RDA), Objective One and the Isles of Scilly and Carrick District Council.

Stephen Bohane, from the RDA, said: "This project demonstrates the role the RDA is playing in delivering high quality workspace in Cornwall, especially in areas where the costs of development would be prohibitive for a private developer."
