Beach yobs face police crackdown
Towan Beach
Locals have complained about anti-social behaviour at Towan
Police have been given new powers to deal with troublemakers at another of Cornwall's beaches this summer.

Officers say anti-social behaviour is a significant and persistent problem at Towan Beach in Newquay.

The dispersal order will give them powers to remove people from the beach who they believe are causing a problem.

Devon and Cornwall police have also been granted dispersal orders at Gyllingvase Beach in Falmouth and at Daymer Bay near Padstow this summer.

The dispersal order at Towan, which will run from 27 May until 30 September, follows consultation between the police and the local authority.
