Views sought on overnight units
The future of overnight services at minor injuries units in north and east Cornwall will be discussed at Launceston College on Thursday night.

The local primary care trust wants to end round-the-clock opening of units at Launceston, Liskeard, Bodmin, Stratton and Saltash.

North and East Cornwall Primary Care Trust is seeking views on the move.

It says low usage of the overnight service means resources could be better spent elsewhere.

It claims that such a move would free up 135,000 a year.

The controversial proposal has sparked fears from some residents, concerned it would be an unacceptable loss of emergency local health services.
