A Cornwall hospital will be closed for six weeks from Monday while improvements are made to some of its public areas. The West Cornwall Primary Care Trust is spending about 120,000 at the Edward Hain Hospital in St Ives.
The reception area is being updated and resurfacing work is being carried out in the hospital car park.
Work on the lifts will also be carried out, meaning that no patients can be admitted while builders are there.
Bosses say they will try to help any relatives who have problems travelling to other hospitals to visit patients during the closure.
