Funds for the playground at St Uny School were raised in a few months |
The Duke of Kent has opened a memorial playground in Cornwall dedicated to two young brothers who died in last year's tsunami in South Asia. Taylor Howard, eight, and Mason, aged six, died along with their mother's partner David Page in Phuket, Thailand.
Their family gave an emotional address at the ceremony at their former school, St Uny in Carbis Bay.
The duke met the boys' mother Sharon Howard, 37, and other members of the family before opening the playground.
The money to build the play area was raised in just a few months.
Mrs Howard said: "I would like to thank everyone who supported the appeal.
"I know the boys would be honoured and to everyone who has supported me and my family through the last 10 months, thank you."
