Police clamp on public sex areas
Special constables in Cornwall will be patrolling areas used for public sex this weekend.

Police will be out across east Cornwall after complaints from local people about indecent activity.

The patrols, which coincide with National Specials weekend, will concentrate on areas that are known for indecent behaviour.

Anyone caught will get a fixed penalty fine, sent a warning letter and have their car registration number recorded.

Chief Inspector Paul Roberts says there have been many complaints from local people and pictures have been published on the internet.

There will be other patrols in Callington town centre to cut down on loitering late at night and the police will also be in Liskeard and Looe to deal with any potential violence and anti social behaviour.

Special constables will be giving talks about their work during the weekend as the police try to recruit more volunteers in Cornwall.
