A minor injuries at a Cornwall community hospital is to close every night for a month.

The move at St Austell Hospital is to enable the department's staff to undergo training to expand the out-of-hours services available.

The Central Cornwall Primary Care Trust said currently staff were only able to treat minor injuries.

When reopened, the unit will be able to treat a range of illnesses outside of normal working hours, by appointment.
