Millions of people visit Cornwall each year |
A report is calling for measures to ease the impact of tourism on Cornwall's health service. It says the influx of millions of visitors each year puts increased pressure on hospitals, doctors and other medical staff in the county.
The Cornwall County Council report says there should be more NHS money to meet the demands of tourism.
At certain times of the year visitors numbers can quadruple the size of the county's 500,000-strong population.
Evidence heard
The report, which is which is being backed by the county council's executive, says there should be better recognition of the impact of tourism on Cornwall when NHS funds are distributed.
It also calls for tour operators to remind visitors to bring their medication with them.
And it suggests that school holidays in Cornwall might be staggered so health staff can have time off with their families.
The county council drew up the report after hearing evidence from hospitals, the police and the tourist industry.
