Decision delayed on sewage works
Sewage works
Several sewage works plans have met opposition
South West Water is being asked to look at alternative sites for another sewage treatment works.

Cornwall county planners deferred a decision on the planned plant at Bossiney, near Tintagel, on Wednesday.

People living near the proposed Back Lane site say the impacts on the area would outweigh the benefits.

The water company says it is the most suitable location, but the council will ask for other places to be considered before a final decision is made.

The water company has faced opposition from several Cornish villages over treatment works.

In The Lizard, residents are attempting to stop the company cutting down trees on the site of a proposed pumping station.
