Islanders' transport views sought
Isles of Scilly
The islands lie about 28 miles off Land's End
People living on the Isles of Scilly are being asked how they would like transport links to be improved.

200,000 is being spent employing consultants who will try to establish what local people want to see happen with the sea and air links.

The consultants will also consider how the harbours at St Mary's and Penzance can be improved.

This will involve presenting some development options including economic and environmental impact assessments.

Exhibitions showing the work are being held on Thursday and Friday at St Mary's town hall from 1000 GMT.

A ferry service from Penzance connects the mainland with the Scillies, which are located in the Atlantic Ocean about 28 miles off Land's End.

Helicopter and plane services also operate to the islands.
