Islands police to compare notes
Police officers from the Isles of Scilly are visiting their colleagues on the Shetland Islands to compare how they handle island crime.

They will discuss domestic violence, road traffic and drug offences.

The police say the Shetlands has similar policing issues to those on the Scillies with the added problem of many residents living on the off islands.

Sgt Tom Holmes and Insp Ken Wilkins will be shadowing officers from the Northern Constabulary for three days.

They will also be meeting with partner agencies, such as the local council, who are involved in crime reduction.

There will be a reciprocal visit by Shetland officers later in the year.
