Robbie Williams and Alex Parks: Christmas bets

Alex, 19, also shares the same odds as Robbie Williams for a Christmas number one hit.

She made it to the final five of Fame Academy on Saturday night after a winning performance of Blondie's Heart of Glass.

The winner will get a lucrative recording contract and the life of a pop star for a year.

Bookmaker William Hill is offering odds of 3-1 on for her to win and 13-1 for a Christmas number one. Ladbrokes also makes her favourite to be voted best of the six.

William Hill spokeswoman Jenny Prest said: "She has been the only one we have seen any money for.

"We had a bit for Carolynne and Peter in the beginning, but most people have been backing her."

Alex performed in Covent Garden on Friday with the remaining members of the Fame Academy.

It was the second time out of the Academy for a special show.

Last week they entertained crowds at Brent Cross shopping centre.
