Walkers on 11-day charity trek
Walker being treated for blisters
The core team of three walkers is covering hundreds of miles
Organisers of a marathon charity walk around the east of England say they are doing well near the halfway point, despite a few blisters.

At the weekend, the SOFAST fundraisers - including former England cricketer Mike Gatting - walked from Colchester to Ipswich.

On Monday the team, joined by football players and other celebrities, is to walk 22 miles to Saxmundham.

The team hopes to raise 1m for Sargent Cancer Care and Addenbrooke's Hospital.

Mr Gatting said: "There have been a few people suffering blisters, as they always do on these trips."

But he said motorists had been "great" and he thanked people on the roads for being patient with the walkers.

Cambridgeshire businessman Paul Thwaites, chairman of SOFAST, organised the event after his son was diagnosed with a tumour and was treated by Addenbrooke's Hospital.

The walkers will also visit Norwich, Bury St Edmunds and Newmarket on their rounds before wrapping up the event in Cambridge on Saturday.
