Residents consulted over airport
British Airways aircraft
BA recently announced extra flights from Bristol International
People living close to Bristol International Airport have been invited to offer their views on its expansion.

The North Somerset-based airport is set to grow rapidly over the next decade with passenger numbers rising from five million to around nine million.

The number of flights will increase as well, to an average of six every hour.

On Thursday 25,000 leaflets were due to be sent out to local residents soliciting their views on the expansion of the airport's terminal building.

Some have already expressed their misgivings that the expansion will lead to more disturbances.

One told BBC News: "The worst effect is high noise levels, particularly in the summer when windows are open."
