A stadium used for football and rugby in Bristol is to be expanded by more than 1,200 seats. Planning permission was granted on Wednesday for Bristol Rovers FC's plans to expand the Memorial Stadium by redeveloping the North Stand.
The city council imposed some conditions on the plans including one stating that bars in the new stand must close at 11pm.
Around 600 residents had complained in writing about the proposals.
Fitness suite
Simon Arnold, Bristol Rovers' project manager, said: "We are very pleased to have got planning permission.
"Some conditions have been imposed, and we need to review them with our professional team."
The new stand will have around 4,900 seats, and will include "conferencing and educational" rooms, a creche, and a health and fitness suite.
After development, the stadium will have a maximum capacity of 13,185.
