A draft plan is expected next year |
Residents in the West are being invited to comment on its transport system. A new website will canvas views on a proposed new local transport plan which aims to increase choice and improve access to jobs, education and services.
The plan is being prepared by Bath and North East Somerset, Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire Councils, and will run until 2011.
Congestion, road safety, air quality and accessibility are the four main priorities it identifies.
The plan will set out "...the ways these areas will be addressed, how progress will be monitored and how this will be reported to the public and government".
A draft is expected in early 2005, with public consultation beginning in spring.
