A major study into the future of transport in and around Bristol has been announced by the government. The Greater Bristol Strategic Transport Study will look at the future of all modes of transport in and around the city over the next 30 years.
The study, funded by the government and local councils, will look in depth at the future of the main transport routes and movement of people.
It is expected to be completed by the end of May 2005.
Cliff Baston, from the Government Office for the South West, said: "In looking at strategic transport for the future, the study will also look at the transport needs of an area that is expected to grow in the next 10 to 20 years, and how these needs can be supported."
