An appeal to raise funds for Bradford City Football Club has been given a boost by David Hockney. Hockney, one of Britain's most famous artists, has given "substantial" funds to help his hometown club.
The appeal aims to raise 250,000 for the Bantams, who went back into administration in February.
With 207,000 already raised, Bradford chief executive Julian Rhodes has conditionally pledged 250,000 for the club next season if the target is met.
According to the Bradford Telegraph and Argus newspaper, which is running the campaign, the exact size of Hockney's donation is being kept confidential.
