Teenagers held in a young offenders' institute are being given the chance to produce their own radio shows for broadcast at Christmas. Huntercombe Young Offenders' Institute in Oxfordshire already offers courses in djing, digital music production and radio production.
Now technicians from Blast 1386 - Reading College's student radio station - are helping them use their skills.
Organisers say they want the relationship to continue in the future.
Trainees at Huntercombe have been producing, performing and writing their own music to feature on the shows, to be broadcast in the centre.
Nikki Cripps, instructional officer at Huntercombe said: "The relationship between Huntercombe and Blast has allowed trainees to not only gain accredited training but also to put their training into practise.
"It is hoped that this pilot project will be the first step in a long-term relationship between both parties."
