A stately home has reopened after it was closed for seven weeks for the filming of a film adaptation of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice. Staff at Basildon Park say the filming was tiring, as they had to remove all the contents, curtains and carpets from display rooms for filming.
They have spent the last week restoring all the displays at the Berkshire site ready for the weekend's reopening.
There will be a display of the film's costumes when it is released.
Mark Simmons, the visitor manager said the filming was the most complex they had ever done.
"All the staff at Basildon Park have worked extremely hard to ensure that the filming was a great success.
"We're all a bit tired now but we'll enjoy the time when the film comes out and we're able to have an exhibition of costumes from the film and behind-the-scenes photographs of what went on."
