A new film of Jane Austen's classic novel Pride and Prejudice, is being partly shot at Wilton House in Wiltshire. Filming begins at the 17th century ancestral home of the Earl of Pembroke on Tuesday.
It will be transformed into the inside of Mr Darcy's (to be played by Matthew Macfadyen) Pemberley residence.
Wilton was previously used in the films Mrs Brown, The Madness of King George and Sense and Sensibility.
Debbie Evans, tourism manager at Wilton, told BBC News Online: "We are old hands at this. The staff know the contemporary items they have to remove and then replace.
"The 17th Earl of Pembroke, who died last year, was a film director and a keen promoter, and his son has taken it on."
Pride and Prejudice follows the five Bennet sisters, including Lizzie (Keira Knightley) and Lydia (Jena Malone) and their attempts to find husbands.
Brenda Blethyn, Donald Sutherland, Rosamund Pike, Tom Hollander, Penelope Wilton and Judi Dench will all star in the film.
The house will be closed for filming from 23 to 26 August, although the grounds will be open as usual.
