Council skate event 'a success'
Skaters at the event at Marlborough School
More than 100 youngsters of all abilities turned up
More than 100 young skateboarders of all abilities turned up to show off a range of skills at a temporary mobile skate park in west Oxfordshire.

The event, run by the district council at Marlborough School, Woodstock, meant youngsters could be quizzed on whether more skate parks should be opened.

The council is now deciding whether it should buy a mobile skate park for use around the area.

Councillor Tony Walker welcomed the event.

"We are delighted with the event's success," he said.

"The feedback we received will prove to be very valuable.

"Many of the young people who attended have not taken part in events run by the Sports Development Team before.

"This proves we are right to try to offer new, varied activities for the young people of West Oxfordshire."
