Mobile parks for skateboarders
Skateboarders
The mobile parks have cost around 1,000
New mobile skate parks are being unveiled in Burnham-on-Sea, Somerset.

Many skateboarders have not been using the permanent park that Sedgemoor District Council recently built in the Highbridge area.

Instead, they are still skating on pavements around the Esplanade in the seaside town, which is annoying some residents.

Now, Avon and Somerset Police have bought seven mobile parks which can be moved almost anywhere around the area.

The parks cost 1,000 and consist of heavy-duty plastic obstacles which can be installed on hard-standing areas such as basketball and tennis courts.

Sergeant Mark Nicholson from Avon and Somerset Police, told the BBC: "We needed the new facilities for the Burnham, Highbridge and Cheddar areas.

"And we wanted to cut incidents of anti-social behaviour and increase the safety of the boarders."
