Youngsters can learn to DJ and make music at the new centre
Young people who dream of being a DJ, filmmaker or photographer are to get the chance to learn at a newly-opened arts centre.

Manor Park Young People's Centre will offer workshops in photography, street dance, sports and video and music-making.

Local 13 to 25-year-olds are celebrating its grand opening in Slough, Berkshire, on Friday with dj-ing and music performances for local people.

Slough MP Fiona Mactaggart and Councillor Laurie Gleeson, the town's mayor, will also attend the launch on Villiers Road.

A committee of 16 local youngsters will help manage the running of the centre, which has its own recording studio, sports hall and performance area.

Councillor Rajinder Sandhu said: "Young people have told us they want somewhere to go which is relevant and exciting and residents have also said we need to provide constructive opportunities for them."
