 Saxons Youth can now fully equip its 35 members and recruit more players |
Almost half a million pounds of Lottery cash has been distributed to 73 groups across the East of England. East Midlands Saxons Youth American Football Club, based in Peterborough, received �9,979 to fully equip its 35 members and recruit more players. Askew Agricultural Museum received a �9,600 to refurbish old farm and agricultural machinery at Scales Farm in Old Buckenham, Norfolk. Self-defence group Mpower got �2,600 to offer free classes to women in Suffolk. Diverse FM in Luton was awarded �9,787 to buy equipment including computers, a mixing desk for DJs, and apparatus for on-air telephone calls while Southend Mencap received �10,000. Awards for All is the small grants scheme administered by the Big Lottery Fund on behalf of Lottery good cause funders, Arts Council England, Big Lottery Fund, Heritage Lottery Fund and Sport England. The scheme makes awards of between �300 and �10,000 to grass-roots community groups and voluntary organisations. A total of �468,171 was distributed to groups across the East.
