No legal action is to be taken against Newcastle United footballer Kieron Dyer after he was arrested on suspicion of indecent exposure. It followed a complaint from a female member of staff at the Swallow Nelson Hotel in Norwich, Norfolk, last April.
The 27-year-old, who moved to Newcastle from Ipswich for �6m in 1999, denied the allegation.
On Friday, a spokesman for player said the CPS had concluded their inquiry and no action would be taken against Dyer.
Graham Shear of law firm Teacher Stern Selby added: "On May 25th, 2006 it was reported that Kieron Dyer had attended a police station in Norwich the previous day in connection with an allegation made by a young lady regarding his conduct.
"At the time I confirm that Kieron Dyer denied any misconduct and that I was also sure that this matter would be resolved quickly.
"I am now pleased that, in line with Kieron's adamant denial, the police and CPS have today confirmed that they have concluded their investigation and absolutely no action whatsoever will be taken against Kieron Dyer."
Dyer has made a total of 28 international appearances.
