 Britvic sells more than 1.4bn litres of soft drinks a year |
A drinks company was valued at �494m on the first day its shares were offered on the London market. Britvic increased its shares from 153m to 181m after owners Pernod and Whitbread sold all their holdings.
Other shareholders have also sold large stakes in the firm which has factories at Chelmsford, Norwich, London, Rugby, Hartlepool, Huddersfield and Leeds.
Britvic's 3,000 employees will each get shares worth �750 in a flotation which becomes official on 14 December.
The firm also has offices in: Chelmsford, Essex; Marlow, Buckinghamshire; and Solihull, in the West Midlands.
The sites of its depots include Fareham in Hampshire, Exeter in Devon and Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk.
