Cleveland Bridge engineers have been working on the stadium |
The main contractor at the Wembley Stadium project is to pay a sub-contractor 430,000 in settlement over a contract dispute. Darlington-based Cleveland Bridge said Multiplex did not honour its commitments made in June this year.
It said two more decisions will be made about contractual agreements with Multiplex for work at the 757m project in north-west London.
Both firms said they were pleased with the ruling by an industry adjudicator.
"This outcome wholly supports Cleveland Bridge's view that Multiplex did not honour its commitments with regard to the agreements made in June of this year," the company said in a statement.
It also said Multiplex still owes Cleveland Bridge a "significant" sum of money for work completed on the 757m Wembley Stadium site project.
A spokesman for Multiplex said the company was happy with the outcome of the arbitration and that the project was on time and on budget.
The stadium is due to open in 2006 for the FA Cup Final.
