Health centre offers instant care
nurse and patient
The centre will deal with minor injuries and illnesses
People living and working in Darlington will soon be able to access instant health care treatment at the area's first walk-in medical centre.

Open seven days a week, from 7am to 10pm, it will be staffed by a team of trained nurses who will be able to treat minor illnesses and injuries.

The aim is to complement existing GP and Accident and Emergency services.

The centre, which is located in the town centre, is due to open at the end of December or beginning of January.

Anyone who lives or works in Darlington will be able to turn up for treatment.

Director of Primary Care, Carole Harder said: "We are expecting around 100 visitors a day.

"There will be a range of medication available, although obviously with it being nurse-led it would only be things that nurses could prescribe.

"However, it should be enough to deal with the majority of complaints."
