The Gloucestershire airbase has seen a number of large protests |
A group of anti-war protesters have set up camp on a road bridge after they were stopped from demonstrating near RAF Fairford. Members of the Stop the War Coalition from Swindon are protesting on the bridge over the A419 near Cricklade.
They say some of their members have been banned from going too near the base because they are involved in court cases relating to it.
And they say reports from the base are concentrating on the B-52s there and not on the peace campaigners.
Placards and banners
They hope to grab the attention of motorists and the media with their placards and banners.
Protester Kate Holcam said: "We just want to let everyone know that the anti-war movement is alive and well.
"The media stand outside Gate 13 at Fairford filming the B-52s taking off and landing all day every day.
"But they don't film the anti-war protests there, some of which are huge."
The campaigners, who cannot stay at the site during the week as they all have jobs, say they will return next weekend to make their voices heard.
