Grieving children will benefit from the funding |
Bereaved children in Worcestershire are to benefit from a new funding initiative. The Noah's Ark Trust, which specialises in giving support to grieving youngsters and their families, has received 5,000 from gas company Transco to create a "family room" at its Worcester headquarters.
Part of the money will also be used to help train the Trust's team of volunteers.
Transco has also funded the production of 1,000 folders bearing the Noah's Ark Trust name and logo to help further raise the profile of the charity.
Sue Smith, the Trust's administrative funding manager, said the family room was important because it creates a "warm, welcoming environment" for children and young people to come to terms with a close bereavement.
"We have developed a special family room where children and other members of the family can be supported at a particularly sad time in their lives having lost a loved one or a close friend," she said.
Transco's Commercial Manager Tom Notman said the company was delighted to be able to support the Trust.
