Ryanair is adding a second daily flight from Newquay to Stansted airport, it has been announced. The budget airline will be running morning and evening flights from 1 May.
Ryanair says that will mean 180,000 passengers a year will be able to travel to and from Cornwall, an increase of 80,000 on last year.
The company has also announced a new one-way fare of 9.99, including tax.
The new service has been welcomed by business and tourism leaders in Cornwall.
'Soaring success'
Currently about 60% of Ryanair's passengers on the service are business customers.
Ryanair spokeswoman, Ruth Clendennen, said: "The evening flight has proved such a soaring success that we decided to introduce a second, which will allow business passengers to have a new daily trip to London.
"It will also allow greater flexibility and more availability for tourists in the summer months."
She added: "The new daily flight is fantastic news for tourism because many people will be coming to explore the South West.
"It is also great news for Newquay Airport because if this proves a success, I don't see why we can't introduce new routes in the future."
