BAE wants a contract to supply Hawk fighter jets |
Defence giant BAE Systems has announced 124 compulsory redundancies at its factory in East Yorkshire. Last November, the company said 450 jobs would go at Brough and it was hoped this could be achieved through voluntary redundancies.
But it now says that volunteers cannot be found for 124 posts that still have to go on 15 May.
On Tuesday, BAE said it was cutting 1,000 jobs at other UK sites.
It follows problems with a Ministry of Defence (MOD) contract to supply Nimrod aircraft.

Haltemprice and Howden MP David Davis said the redundancies at Brough would come as a "terrible blow to the workforce."
He added: "Although BAE Systems have kept their promise to keep job losses within the 450 announced in November, had it not been for the company's management failures over Nimrod, some of these jobs might have been saved.
"The workforce is paying the price for the company's mistakes.
"It is now absolutely critical that the Ministry of Defence and BAE Systems conclude the RAF contract for Hawk training jets on time."
It is hoped a deal to build the jets for the MOD's Military Flying Training Systems project will protect 2,000 jobs at Brough.
The company has set itself a deadline of 31 March to get together the information required for the contract.
