Seaside shopping centre delayed
Morecambe seafront
The development is planned for Morecambe seafront
A new retail development in Morecambe will not be open in time for Easter as originally planned, developers have said.

Supermarket company Morrisons plan to build a new factory outlet centre on the site of the former Frontierland theme park.

The seafront site is currently derelict.

But a spokesman for Morrisons said the development was behind schedule as it was having difficulty attracting retailers to the site.

A spokesman for the company described the task as "hard work".

Morrisons has already been granted planning permission for the development.

Work is still ongoing to clear the site and the firm has said it cannot give a date when the development will go ahead.
