Rolls-Royce workers told skills are still valuable
Rolls-Royce Derby factory
The company has shed thousands of jobs
Business experts in Derby say hundreds more workers who could be made redundant by Rolls-Royce should be able to find other jobs.

They say there is a shortage of skilled engineers.

Rolls Royce announced on Tuesday that 1,100 more jobs could be lost in Derby, Hucknall in Nottinghamshire and Bristol.

It comes just weeks after the company announced 250 white collar jobs were to go in Derby.

But the Southern Derbyshire Chamber says many of the engineers whose jobs are under threat could find employment elsewhere, as there is a shortage of skilled workers.

Careers advisers are already at the Main Works in Nightingale Road helping to find retraining for workers who lost their jobs in previous rounds of redundancies.
