Views sought on road scheme
The A14 in Northamptonshire
The route runs between the M40 and the A14
Drivers and local residents are being offered the chance to have their say on the future of two trunk roads.

The Highways Agency is beginning a 10-year project to improve the A43 and the A45 between Bicester in Oxfordshire and Thrapston in Northamptonshire.

The Route Management Strategy aims to investigate environmental, economic, safety and accessibility concerns and ease congestion.

Tony Potter from the Highways Agency said: "Local people often know a great deal about local problems and have good ideas of what the solutions might be."

Action plan

The project covers the A43 between Junction 10 of the M40 and Junction 15a of the M1, which passes Brackley, Towcester and the Silverstone motor racing track.

The A45 section of the route runs between Junction 15 on the M1 and Junction 13 on the A14, and passes Northampton, Wellinborough and Rushden.

The strategy will take about 15 months to develop, and should be published in May 2004.

It will cover the next 10 years, but will include an early action plan for the next three years.

Comments should be sent to Carillion-URS, Pytchley Maintenance Compound, Pegasus Court, Kettering South Business Park, Kettering, NN15 6XS.
