Mrs Whittaker has lived at Rock House for six years |
A 95-year-old care home resident battling against a move to new accommodation has been given a reprieve. Hannah Whittaker, who suffers from Dementia, was due to move from Rockhouse residential home in Tickhill, near Doncaster, to a council-run nursing home.
Doncaster Council were planning the move after a medical assessment that said she needed full-time nursing care.
But the authority has now delayed a final decision, which means Mrs Whittaker will stay at Rockhouse for the foreseeable future.
Mrs Whittaker's family had claimed her health could suffer as a result of being moved from her home after six years.
A Doncaster Council spokesman said last week: "We understand that it can be upsetting moving frail older people, but this may be necessary to ensure they receive the care they are assessed as needing."
