Rob Bayman has spent months training and packing on extra body fat for the 100-mile Yukon Arctic Ultra Marathon. He told BBC Look East he was taking part in the race to make life a bit more exciting: "It'd be a dull life, wouldn't it, if everyone was the same and did the same things. "You just enjoy giving yourself little challenges." Mr Bayman's challenge will consist of a three-day trek in temperatures of about minus 40C while he drags his supplies in a sled behind him. He is one of only 18 people in the world who will compete in the marathon. | See also: 28 Nov 02 | Science/Nature 23 May 02 | England 17 Mar 99 | Americas Internet links: The BBC is not responsible for the content of external internet sites Top England stories now: Links to more England stories are at the foot of the page. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
