Some people collecting their Christmas trees over the weekend have found the experience to be a drag... for dogs.

Visitors to the Elveden Estate can have their chosen tree dragged to their car by a big dog, in return for a small donation to charity.

This is the second year the estate has used dogs from the local Newfoundland Dog Association.

Elveden Farm's forestry and conservation manager Jim Rudderham told BBC Radio Norfolk the dogs always get a fantastic reception.

Festive adornments

"We have Newfoundland dogs with antlers, flashing lights and tinsel, and the owners are dressed similarly.

"The children get involved because the dogs act as four-legged shopping trolleys, really."

He said the dogs pull small carts and sledges to transport the trees - and sometimes the children - back to shoppers' cars.
