The dozen windmills would generate electricity for local homes and businesses. The plans have been drawn up by United Utilities for an area around Clowbridge Reservoir on the moors between Burnley and Rawtenstall. The company has carried out consultations and last month the public were given the chance to see the proposal. It began generating electricity ten years ago. | See also: 29 Nov 02 | Scotland 22 Nov 02 | England 25 Oct 02 | Wales 19 Oct 02 | Scotland Internet links: The BBC is not responsible for the content of external internet sites Top England stories now: Links to more England stories are at the foot of the page. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
