Pop group Atomic Kitten are claiming their third place on the Liverpool Wall of Fame.

The trio's latest bronze disc will be unveiled on the Matthew Street wall on Wednesday by the city's Lord Mayor, Jack Spriggs.

The group are the 56th Liverpool act to feature on the wall, with their recent number one The Tide Is High.

The last addition was George Harrison's My Sweet Lord.

Beatles' domination

Councillor Spriggs said: "Since we were officially proclaimed World Capital of Pop by Guinness 18 months ago, we've had three more number ones, which just proves that Liverpool really is a music city."

The Wall of Fame is a tribute to acts from the city which have reached number one.

It was unveiled in 2001 by Lita Roza, who had a hit in 1953 with How Much Is That Doggie In The Window.

The Wall is dominated by Liverpool's most famous band, the Beatles, who have 17 discs.
