'Mum's jail term changed my life'

Patricia Amos was sentenced to 60 days in prison in 2002 after she failed to stop two of her daughters from playing truant.

She was the first person to be jailed under the New Labour policy aimed at tackling the problem.

Her daughter Emma Garza, now 21, spoke to Education Correspondent James Westhead about the effect her mother's jailing had on her life and her opinion of the policy that caused it.
