The two teenage boys at the centre of a row about school expulsions have finally been found alternative places in other schools.

They are now in different schools "skilled in coping with pupils of all abilities and personalities".

The boys were expelled from Glyn Technology School in Ewell after making death threats against a teacher, but reinstated on appeal.

The former education secretary, Estelle Morris, intervened in the row, saying the school should not have to take them back.

In practice she was powerless to do anything, but after talks with the local education authority the boys' parents agreed that they should have private tuition while other places were sought.

That was seven weeks ago.

Behaviour management

Other schools proved reluctant to take them, however.

A statement from Surrey County Council said on Friday: "Arrangements have been made, which are acceptable to all concerned, for school places for the two boys".

It added: "The schools are skilled in coping with pupils of all abilities and personalities and have excellent behaviour management practices.

"We are not in a position to give the names of the schools as we have a responsibility to protect the privacy of all schoolchildren and their families.

"Our priority now is to ensure that the education of all pupils continues as normal."
