PM agrees to TV election debate

Gordon Brown has confirmed that he is willing to take part in a series of televised debates with other party leaders ahead of the general election.

The prime minister said he wanted a series of debates on issues including the economy and foreign affairs.

The Conservative and Liberal Democrat leaders had already said they were ready to participate.
